James D. (JD) Bell, Jr.

Vice President and General Manager, Northeast Region

JD is vice president and general manager for Intervala, where he is responsible for leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company’s manufacturing operations in the Northeast region of the United States.

JD joined Intervala in 2022 with the company’s acquisition of EPE Corporation, where he most recently served as president and chief executive officer. During his 26-year career with EPE, he held a variety of progressively responsible management positions in purchasing, manufacturing, programs and IT. JD was named vice president of operations overseeing manufacturing, engineering, quality and materials in 2000. He was promoted to president in 2007 and named CEO the following year.

Prior to joining EPE, JD enjoyed a career in the U.S. Navy where he last served as supply officer for the USS Olympia, a nuclear-powered attack submarine based in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. In that role, he was responsible for maintaining the submarine’s operational readiness related to onboard spare parts inventories and food supplies. During that time, he earned the Submarine Squadron 11 Blue E for supply excellence and received the prestigious Batchelder Award recognizing supply officers who make significant contributions to the supply readiness of the Navy’s operating forces.

JD earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., and completed training at the Navy Supply Corps School and Navy Submarine School.
