Intervala Participates in Teacher in the Workplace Program

In keeping with our commitment to STEM education, we happily hosted Allie Grimm, a coding teacher with Southmoreland School District, at our manufacturing facility in Mount Pleasant, Pa. Her visit was part of the Westmoreland-Fayette Workforce Investment Board‘s Teacher in the Workplace program. The program focuses on connecting educators and school administrators with local industry leaders to help the educators understand better what local businesses in the manufacturing, healthcare, business services, technology and trade sectors do, the career opportunities they offer, and the skills students will need to be successful in these careers.

During her visit, Allie met with a variety of Intervala staff members, toured our production floor, participated in some hands-on STEM activities, and even conducted a job shadow session with one of our production floor operators to get a first-hand view of the kind of work we do here.

We’re excited to continue this partnership for the third year in a row and are committed to inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders.
