"What's So Cool About Manufacturing?" Intervala Hosts Local Middle Schoolers in Student Video Contest

What’s So Cool About Manufacturing? Students from J.E. Harrison Middle School in Pittsburgh are getting ready to show you using Intervala as their backdrop! The kids are participating in the 2017-18 "What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?" student video contest sponsored by Catalyst Connection, an economic development organization helping manufacturers in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

The annual video contest is a STEAM program that pairs up middle school students across Pennsylvania with local companies to create a new perspective on the exciting career opportunities that exist in manufacturing. Voting for the best student video will take place in early February with winners announced later that month. The Intervala team is delighted to support these bright minds and budding filmmakers!

We are incredibly proud of our team and humbled by the work of the Salvation Army. Their programs assist approximately 25 million people in this country each year during times of crisis, including hundreds of thousands of individuals and families in Western Pennsylvania. Intervala’s 2017 Food Drive is one for the record books! Donations were delivered to the amazing folks at Walnut Grove Assembly of God Church which serves families in and around the West Mifflin, Pa., community. Our employees came together to collect over 400 pounds of food and supplies that were delivered just in time for the Thanksgiving food bank sponsored by the church. A huge thank you to our employees for their amazing generosity!

Chili, charity and cheer! Intervala recently hosted a fall luncheon for all employees. Everyone brought their Intervala spirit and their appetites! We kicked things off with an amazing chili lunch catered by Pittsburgh-based Jaden’s Catering, followed by our pumpkin decorating and carving contest. Congratulations to employees Mercedes Matesic, who took first place, and runner up Heather Saccamago. Our Halloween-themed basket raffle, featuring two tickets to Kennywood Park Phantom Fright Nights, brought in $200, which the company matched. We are proud to present a $400 donation to A Glimmer of Hope Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit supporting breast cancer research and programs. Happy Fall to everyone! #IntervalaInspires
